Showcase your work.

Renew Theaters is always looking for groundbreaking independent films with a strong local connection. Below you’ll find that our local film programming includes open submissions for short films as well as feature length films. Selected filmmakers will have the opportunity to share their work with our engaged, film-loving audience via our four virtual theaters.

Short films.

Renew Theaters presents a short film series dedicated to showcasing the BEST local filmmakers in the Greater Philadelphia Area. The First Take Shorts Series is an internet based short film showcase that aims to screen a diverse lineup of some of the best independently produced short films by area filmmakers. The talents of these filmmakers can range from students to seasoned professionals. Our bi-weekly virtual screenings are intended to give PA, NJ, DE and NY filmmakers the opportunity to share their work with a large audience.

Submissions will remain open but are split into annual submissions periods. Current submissions will be considered for one of the Spring 2020 virtual screenings. Films submitted after the current deadline will be considered for the Summer 2020 virtual screenings. If your film is selected then it will have the chance to be featured as our Short of the Week.

Feature films.

We’re always on the lookout for independently produced feature films that hold a strong local connection in cast/crew, filming location, or setting. If you’re an area filmmaker, please submit your film for consideration. Selected films will be scheduled for a one night only YouTube Live Stream and promoted through our four virtual theater websites and social media channels.
