Robert Wise (West Side Story, The Sound of Music) directed this underseen gothic horror film produced by Val Lewton. Based on a Robert Louis Stevenson short story, Boris Karloff (Frankenstein) plays a cab driver moonlighting as a grave robber, who eventually turns to murder supplying corpses for a ruthless doctor. THE BODY SNATCHER would be one of three films Karloff and Lewton would work together on, however, this would be the last film in which Karloff and Bela Lugosi (Dracula) appeared together. Presented on a gorgeous black and white 35mm print.
